Chinese built Volvo S60 to launch soon
The Volvo S60 has only just been launched into the Chinese market as an imported model, but it appears that Chang’an Volvo are preparing the S60 for production here in China. It was widely thought that the Chang’an-Volvo joint venture would silently disappear into the night when local rival Geely took over the Swedish run company, but Chang’an are evidently still in the field with Volvo – at least for now. The locally made S60 has already received government go-ahead to be produced in China and the first model will be the 2.0T version, which shares its engine with the Ford Mondeo. The 1.6T Volvo S60 is likely to come later in the year.
