Dongfeng’s crossover in dealerships now

When Dongfeng launched the oddly named Joyear MPV it did not sell too well, but as soon as it relaunched it with the choice of a 1.5L and a 1.8T engine the Joyear flew out of the door. Now Dongfeng have prepared a crossover version that sits some 4cm higher than the original thanks to its raised suspension and also has a fair amount of black plastic cladding around its body to give it that offroad look. Oddly, the Crossover seems to be sporting a new badge with some sort of mythical half lion-beast on a red and black background, although the Dongfeng brand remains.

Although Chinese car manufacturers are establishing their brands on an international basis its obvious that several of them are still severely lacking in branding ability, Dongfeng being one of them.

I take it that Dongfeng is not a sponsor of this site. ;)

I wouldn’t read CCT as much if it were sponsored. The site would be different according to who spends the most. Imagine how KIA would “run” this site =)
