Haima’s new compact sedan


Haima love the Mazda 323 that they inherited from former joint venture partners Mazda, so much so that they have kept it in production well past its original best by date, the car transformed into the All New Family for 2011 and became the ugly duckling that turned into a prince. Now Haima are working on a sedan version of their small hatch, the Haima2, which itself is based on Mitsubishi Colt technology:

A launch date for the new compact has not been announced, but it is likely to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2011.

    I recently saw a ChangAn-branded vehicle that looked like an exact clone of the Focus hatch – I’m guessing this was another example of platform sharing.

    It might be interesting to do an article about how the Chinese JV partners are using “foreign” tech in their domestic-branded cars.
