GWM’s Hover H6 to launch in August
The Hover H6 was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year and will hit the market in August 2011 according to Chinese media reports. The H6 is GWM’s first ‘real’ compact SUV, other members of the Hover series of cars rely on chassis rather than lighter platforms, the H6 will be aimed at city SUV’s such as the Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4 and its likely that its range of engines will win users over to the GWM brand.
For the H6 engines are planned to be a self developed 1.5T unit which will be good for 98kW of power (134bhp) and also 188Nm of torque at 1600-4500rpm. 2.0L and 2.4L engines will also be offered alongside the 1.5T, interestingly a 2.0 turbo diesel engine will also be offered which could indicate the H6 is going to be destined for overseas markets as well as Chinese consumers are not yet major diesel car consumers.

Great Wall at the Shanghai show told me summer so August sounds pretty likely. I’m sure the H6 will be destined for overseas.
