Honda China lowers its full-year sales target to 650,000 units
Affected by the March 11 earthquake in Japan, Honda China lowers its full-year sales target from 730,000 units to 650,000 units, almost the same level as its 2010 sales.
Honda China’s spokesperson Zhu Linjie said that the earthquake affected its production plan, and Honda will make up the losses by increasing capacity in the second half of this year.
Honda sold 236,000 vehicles in China in the first five months of this year, down 9% from a year earlier. Zhu Linjie also said that Honda China’s capacity will return normal in July or August, and Honda will try its best to raise the capacity in the second half of this year. Toyota and Nissan said that they won’t revise their sales targets in China.
