Audi to expand capacity to 700,000 units per year in China


FAW-Volkswagen’s general manager Mr. An Tie Cheng revealed on July 11 that Audi plans to raise its capacity in China from near 300,000 units to 700,000 units, and to increase the number of dealers from 185 to 500 by 2015.

Meanwhile, Audi will launch mild hybrid versions of its full product series next year. The full hybrid version of the next-generation A6L will be made in China in 2013. The company also disclosed that its annual sales target for Chinese market is raised from 280,000 units to 300,000 units this year. The reason for Audi’s revising sales target is in its H1 sales in China rose 28% from a year earlier to 140,699 units, which surpassed its German sales for the first time.
