Peugeot 307 to come in cross form

What do you do when you want to sell more cars in China? You raise the suspension slightly and add layers of black plastic to the outside to give it that crossover feel – except instead of marketing it as a mini SUV, you sell it as a sports model. Confused? Well that’s just how auto makers roll in China. The 307 is about to get the crossover treatment which will turn it from a fairly bland compact into a hot and heavy sports-crossover which has made the car gain in all areas except the wheelbase.

Regular 308′s measure in at (LxWxH) 4212 x 1762 x 1531 and has a wheelbase of 2608, with a curb weight of 1247kg, the crossover version will be longer and wider due to its added chunky bits: 4249 x 1786 x 1556, the wheelbase of course stays the same at 2608 but the curb weight has increased to 1261kg.
