Next generation Ford Focus sedan sighted in China
For Ford, the Focus is quite simply its bread and butter car and without it Ford would be in a much dire a situation in the Chinese market. The Focus sells in excess of 10,000 units per month on a regular basis and has become the go to car for any budding middle class Chinese consumer that wants a new car at around the 100,000rmb area. The next generation Focus has been spotted in China on several occasions, but this is the first time that we have seen the sedan on Chinese roads.
According to Chinese media the Focus will be packing a 2.0GDI engine which is Ford-speak for a direct injection unit, the engines will be imported until Ford’s Chinese engine factory is online and producing engines in China in early 2012.

GDI isn’t “Ford Speak”, it simply means “Gasoline Direct Injection”.
