JAC announces new factory for Brazil

Chinese manufacturers are seeing major growth in the Brazilian car market after their recent entry into the South American country, Chery were the first Chinese car company to make a landing in Brazil but JAC have aggressively followed suit and have grand plans for the market.

Earlier this week JAC’s Vice President was in Sao Paulo where he announced that JAC will take their models to new heights in the Brazilian markets and make more cars that are more suited to Brazilian tastes. JAC has so far been exporting its models to Brazil, but they expect to build a brand new factory and research center in the rapidly developing auto market by 2014. JAC are expected to invest some 600 million USD into the new factory and R&D facility and will aim to deliver low cost cars to Brazilian drivers, JAC will also be working on ethanol fuel cars for Brazil as Brazil is one of the worlds leading Ethanol producers – producing an amazing 26 billion liters of the fuel last year.

The president of JAC Motors Brazil, Mr. Sergio Habib announced that JAC will develop an entirely new range of vehicles that are more suited to Brazilian tastes, the models will be priced on average at around $25,000USD and will have flex fuel technology as standard. Over the next 3 years JAC are aiming to take 3% of the Brazilian market.
