First renders of Foton’s K1 MPV surface
Foton are already one of the world’s biggest light truck manufacturer, but they are not content with sitting with just the title of truck manufacturer, they are planning to enter the passenger car business in a major way. Foton are owned by Beijing Auto Industry Corp and have a large amount of freedom within the gigantic corporation to develop their own new product lines, and as such the K1 is about to come into existence:
Engine power for the K1 could come from numerous sources, the possibility of using an outsourced sourced gasoline engine, or Foton could turn to their joint venture partner at Cummins for a small displacement diesel engine.
