Beijing Auto’s C71 concept comes alive as the C70G

Beijing Auto aired the C71 concept at the Beijing Auto Show over a year ago, but they do not seem any closer to putting the car into production, until now of course. The C71 was put on show to highlight what Beijing Auto could potentially do to the Saab 95 platform that they bought from Saab when they were having their last bankruptcy fire sale, the platform came with the full works including engine, transmission and IPR for Beijing Auto to do with as they wish – and this is what they have done:

The renders maybe black and white but it looks tike they have given the old 9-5 a decent makeover to bring it more in line with the 21st century styling that you would expect from other companies. The Saab 93 based sedan from BJ Auto is expected to hit the production lines towards the end of 2011, but as to when the above C71 will hit the lines we have no idea, it appears that Beijing have been very slow about putting their new Saab based cars into production, but the biggest issue seems to be a lack of dealers to stock them at the moment.
