Chinese Camry to look a little different to its American cousin

The American version of the Camry has been grabbing headlines all week long in the US of A, the latest incarnation of the world’s most popular mid size sedan was revealed to an excited American public earlier this week, but it seems that the Chinese Camry and the US Camry will have some minor differences when they both make it to dealerships.

The Chinese one seems to have minor changes around the front fog lights that has turned them from diaganol into sweet little round buttons, on the inside the two Camry’s look quite similar, but look closely at the central area and you will see that the GPS buttons are different and the Chinese version doesn’t have any drinks holders. The Communists stole our drinks holders!

A Guangzhou Auto Show is being put down as a potential launch date for the Camry, and it will likely be made via the Guangzhou-Toyota joint venture partnership in early 2013.

Two Camry’s will also be sold side by side in the Chinese market, the older Camry will become known as the Camry Classical.

i like those front and rear lights (which are both different) a lot more! i wonder whats Australia’s Aurion (V6 version of the camry) will look like. i wonder if this is a good indicator

All the talk here in North America is how disappointed we are with the new Camry. Americans want more style, and it looks like a big Corolla. Hyundai, Nissan, Ford and others in that price class understand. Camry will end up number four or so.

Camry has never been purchased for style. It has always been a bland car. The styling might not hurt sales. Never did in the past.

Hugo, If American consumers dont like the Camry, why has there been so much coverage of its most recent generation in the American press?
