Brilliance H7 sedan to be BMW 5-Series based

Brilliance and BMW have been partnered for several years and have focused on building the 3 and 5-series models in the Chinese market, although to expand their sales BMW are planning to introduce more locally made products such as the BMW 1-series and X1 as locally made products. Brilliance on the other hand have been developing their own model line up with some designs clearly inspired by their Germanic partners products, but now the partnership is expected to go a step deeper with BMW planning to sign the old BMW 5-Series platform over to Brilliance to form a basis for the new Brilliance H5 sedan.

As BMW and Brilliance have reportedly come to an arrangement on the use of the platform work on the new model is expected to begin soon, but Brilliance are being tight lipped on the project. An eventual launch date has not been announced but mid to late 2013 seems like the most logical launch time.
