Next Generation Audi A6 prowling the roads in China
Audi was the first luxury car maker to enter the Chinese market, and they have exploited that early entry with great success, in 2010 their sales reached 240,000 vehicles and are continuing to improve into 2011. On the other hand, Mercedes and BMW entered the Chinese market relatively late and have been trying to catch up with Audi ever since. For Audi their first mass selling vehicle in China was the first generation of A6, since then the A6 became the A6L which was stretched to give Chinese executives more room in the rear whilst they are chauffeured from place to place.
The new A6 was spotted prowling in China a few days ago and information on what engines the A6 will be rocking in China was also leaked to the internet: 2.0TFSI, 2.5FSI, 2.8FSI, and a 3.0TSFSI Quattro model will be offered in China, the 2.5 FSI will take the place of the older 2.4L V6 engine. According to internal production plans, the base 2.0TFSI will take up to 39% of production (base model 3%, mid level at 30%, high end 6%), the 2.5FSI model will take up to 46% of production and the top level 3.0 Quattro model is expected to take 4% of production.
