China Car Times resumes normal operations

You may have noticed that China Car Times has been a little slow on the news front over the past two weeks, for this there are two reasons. First of all, when the editor leaves for a week of sun shine in Sanya and can’t find a decent internet connection that doesn’t cost 300rmb per day in a hotel news begins to slow down, or at least this is my excuse. Although Sanya boasts some of the most pristine beaches (and awesome scenery) in China it seems to have a serious internet connectivity problem, 3G (or H, if you’re a cool kid) doesn’t seem to be very stable, despite hotel internet being paid for  they are hardly any faster or stable. So despite being news being pushed in to the systems last week by the CCT team, it was my fault for not hitting the publish button in time.

Secondly, October 1st was China’s birthday, not its original birthday under Qin Shi Huang, but its new birthday under the Communist government, this year China is 62 years old and is looking rather good for her age. A week long holiday is held from Oct 1st onwards which means for us that a slow down in automotive news occurs, of course there is a lot of rumor mongering from Western sources until China gets back to work on the 7th October. Of course China being China, this is no ordinary week long holiday as you would expect anywhere else in the world, Chinese workers are expected to work six days before the holiday and 7 days afterwards to ‘make up for lost time‘, but at least it gives people 7 days off in a row to reflect upon the founding of modern China, and more importantly buy stuff.

So, as China comes back to work, so does China Car Times. We hope you continue to read and enjoy our content.
