Geely’s WCar is a GX2 in disguise for Taiwan

Despite warming ties between The Peoples Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (RoC aka Taiwan), RoC cars are few on Chinese roads, and likewise PRC cars are few on Taiwanese roads, that is until Taiwan’s Yulong signed a joint venture with Dongfeng and produced the new Luxgen 7 SUV in China, and Geely signing within Yulong to distribute the Mainland’s mini cars in the province.

The Wcar is based on Geely’s GX2 SUV come mini crossover vehicle, and will be adopting the WCar name for the Taiwanese market for unknown reasons. Chinese media are speculating that the WCar will be sold in China using the new design cues either later this year or early 2012.
