Skoda Fabia Crossover breaks cover in China

The Skoda brand has gone from strength to strength since its relatively late (re)entry into the Chinese market in 2007, no doubt the Skoda brand is giving hope to other manufacturers such as Renault and Subaru who are also plotting local production at some point in the future, if they can get the permission to do so. Skoda’s current China line up is limited to the Fabia, Superb and Octavia, but the Yeti is expected to be imported in to China next year and see production in China in around 2013 according to earlier media reports. In the meantime Skoda are planning to fill the SUV gap with the Fabia Crossover, I guess we should call it a Scout:

The Fabia Scout has grown a little thanks to its plastic cladding, the ride height has increased by 41mm owing to increased suspension height. The Chinese media are currently calling the Scout a ‘Fabia Scool’ but perhaps they are misreading the English name tag on the back of the admittedly fuzzy pictures, or perhaps the Scout name has been taken so VAG have dropped a few letters and made it the Scool, who knows, we will find out at the Guangzhou Auto Show next month however.
