Changfeng Acumen sedan to get electric power train

Changfeng acumen hatch concept1 300x199 Changfeng Acumen sedan to get electric power trainSince the merger of Changfeng and Guangzhou Auto it seems that Acumen has taken a back seat, the car has been in development for a number of years and was last seen at the Beijing Auto Show in 2008, (Ive personally seen the car testing in Beijing in 2009 as well) but the car has never seemed to make it to the market. The Acumen sedan was developed by Changfeng as demand for its SUV range was dropping with rising gas prices, the Acumen’s introduction seemed like a smart move by Changfeng but the merger with Guangzhou Auto seems to have derailed its progress. Now the Acumen is apparently on the way back, only with an electric powertrain instead of a gasoline engine, the electric version should be coming down the production lines in mid 2012 according to reports in small scale production to test the market.
