Zotye Z300 spied ahead of GZ Auto Launch

The Zotye Z300 is Zotye’s latest mid size car, although the car looks like a completely new car it does have some interesting technology under it. Power comes from a 1.5L Mitsubishi engine owing to Zotye’s lack of self developed engine technology, but the platform itself comes from the Lancia Lybra platform, although thankfully the two cars do not share looks or styling.

The Z300 is not going to set the world alight with world class styling, but it is going to capture an important segment of personal buyers that require a compact sedan that isn’t outwardly flashy much in the same way the last generation Toyota Corolla managed to do so.

When the Z300 launches it will no doubt be in the 60,000rmb to 110,000rmb segment. Zotye’s product line up is expanding at a rapid rate which is a good thing for the small company – relying on a single SUV cannot be good for business.
