Honda to introduce three hybrids into China next year

Although Honda’s Civic hybrid was far being a success in China over the past two years Honda are resolute with their plans to push forward with more hybrid models for China. At the Guangzhou Auto Show Honda’s Seiji Kuraishi was on hand to explain that Honda will go full frontal with its plans for the Chinese green market and production of batteries in the Chinese market.

The Honda Fit EV will be the first pure EV to see Chinese production, Mr. Kuraishi says that the car will be changed for the Chinese market and will be reflective of Chinese market conditions and road situation. Mr. Kuraishi admits that the Civic hybrid was a poor seller which he blames on the 70,000rmb difference between the regular version and the hybrid version, however this has not delayed plans for Honda to introduce the Hybrid Fit, CR-Z and also the Insight into Guangzhou-Honda next year with a view to putting the cars into local production in the future.
