Codenamed B73: Citroen’s new C4 sedan for China
If it wasn’t for the introduction of the C4 hatchback and saloon into the Chinese market, Citroen would be in a very different position now, the French company may have made early gains with the introduction of very popular models such as the Citroen ZX, but they failed to follow up with any models that may have been able to trade on the ZX’s success. The launch of the Citroen C4, which they renamed C-Quattre to get around the slight issue of the number four sounding like death in Chinese, turned Citroen’s fortunes around, consumers began to look at them in a new light once again which was only pushed on by the launch of the C5 sedan later on.
The Chinese C4 is now a generation behind its European counterparts, so Dongfeng-Citroen are eager to put the latest generation into production in China. On the outside, it seems that changes are mostly made to the front of the vehicle, engines are likely to remain the same 1.6L and 2.0L engines although Citroen are apparently planning to produce their turbo engines in China in the future.

They really need a better gearbox, the 4 speed is so outdated. And at the same time they should introduce the newer engines.
If the launch the new model with old engines and 4 speed gearboxes they are only going to miss out on many possible sales. and hurt the image.
Agreed here – every time Ive looked at small PSA vehicles Ive seen the 4speed box and thought “Get out of here”
Utterly terrible in this day of age for a car of such caliber to be rocking a 4speed.
