Tired of small resolution Red Flag C131 pictures? Here’s the full thing
For governmental users the Hong Qi C131 is going to be one of the most anticipated cars of the year, the central government is pushing ministries at all levels to buy local brands rather than their usual Audi’s and VW’s, this is something that central government has been pushing for many years, however local manufacturers have been unable to keep up with the comfort and quality levels of international manufacturers.
Hong Qi – or Red Flag as it is known in English, is one of the gems in the Chinese car industry it has a strong brand name and a long history, however the Hong Qi name has been stuck to too many poor quality vehicles, however the C131 is expected to change that in some respect. Until now we have only seen low quality pictures of the C131, but the below picture is apparently a production model that was developed in September this year ahead of a final production run, this might not be the final production model but its likely to be very close. So what is the C131 based on? The two early contenders for platform donators are either the Toyota Crown and the Audi A6, it seems that this model is very close to the last generation of Audi A6 around the front lights, although we are ready and willing to be proven wrong.
Thanks to Erik from Chinese Cars for the pictures!

Hong Qi could be the most marketable brand in the Chinese industry, and it’s a shame that the name has been attached to low quality vehicles in the past. I hope that FAW has seen the error of their ways, and will attach the name to worthy cars. As one of China’s oldest automotive companies, it’s time for them to learn how to use this valuable brand.
