A sales boost in Beijing, depsite decreased license plates


A December 14th report from NetEase Finance said that despite the adverse effect of Lottery Number of Purchasing Vehicles policy, Beijing’s new car sales in November fell greatly on year-on-year comparison, but still hit a new high compared to last month. Reporters were informed from Beijing Beichen Asian Games Village Automobile Exchange Market that the transaction number in November reached 43,300 units, increasing 6% compared to last month, decreasing 54% on year-on-year.

Second-hand car sales reached 54,700 in November, increasing 20%, decreasing 1% on year-on-year base. Yan Jinghui, the Vice President of Beijing Beichen Asian Games Village Automobile Exchange Market expected that new car transaction amount of next year will reach 500,000 in Beijing.

He also claimed that with the influence of old vehicle subsidies, related trade-in reward and the expanding of shortlisted brands and models, the gate of 5 million old car’s replacement has been unbarred, leading to a new car and second-hand car market boosting. The transaction amount of both new cars and second-hand cars overpasses40000 in4 months in a row. Moreover, sales amount of second-hand cars achieved a record high of more than50,000 in November.

It is expected that in the year of 2012, the amount of new car transaction will be close to 500,000, increasing 25%; the sale of second-hand cars will be not less than 500,000, which is 25% rising compared to this year.
