Renault preping Safrane for China

Renault are actually gearing up to take on the Chinese market in 2012 with a ramp up of offerings, currently Renault offers a mixture of its European and Korean made cars in the Chinese market, the Koleos has been by far the most popular in terms of sales, although the recently introduced Latitude has the potential to catch up. The Safrane is the next to be introduced to China, the Safrane is essentially a rebadged Nissan Teana, a car that has already done exceptionally well in the Chinese market. The Chinese market Teana makes use of a 2.0L 4 cylinder, 2.5L 6 cylinder and a range topping 3.5L V6.

The Safrane is expected to launch in China in the first half of 2012, although prices are not expected to be cheap – Chinese media are quoting prices of 380,000rmb and rising.
