FAW’s B90 Fast Approaching Production Stage

FAW’s Besturn B90 is a sedan that is expected to make it high in the governments fleet procurement lists in a bid to ween civil servants off their Audi fix over 2012, several years ago the government decided that if it was going to spend billions of Dollars each year on car procurement it might as well support its local brands. Except back then, there were no decent mid to full size Chinese sedans for Cadres, the Roewe 750 has gone someway into filling that gap but other newer models from Geely, Chery and FAW are going to take it to the next level.

The B90 is thought to be based on an extended Mazda6 platform which FAW bought from their partners Mazda, engine power is also expected to be from Mazda’s portfolio.

An eventual launch date has not yet been set, but we can expect something in early 2012.
