Gleagle GX7 SUV Aiming to Hit Market in Early 2012

Geely hasn’t yet made its own SUV, whilst its rival over at Chery have been tootling along with their own Tiggo3 SUV for a number of years, Geely has recently invigorated its line up with the new Emgrand and Gleagle brands which have boosted the companies sales considerably. The Gleagle brand will be the first to benefit from some SUV-Love in the next few months when the GX7 SUV hits the market, the GX7 was designed by Ital Design in Italy and will launch with a mixture of 1.8L and 2.0L engines and will also carry a new 6 speed transmission from Geely’s sub company, DSI. The introduction of a six speed transmission will set the company apart from its rivals which still largely require on older Hyundai or Aisin supplied 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearboxes.

Chinese automotive websites are estimating that the GX7 will come in at between 90,000 and 120,000rmb when launched in the first quarter of 2012. The Emgrand range of cars will likely see an MPV added to its line up at the same time.
