Infiniti’s Stretched M-Series to Launch in June

Infiniti are trying their hardest to claw their way up the luxury segment sales chart, they currently fall around the bottom of the chart and only really out sell Acura products in the Chinese market, 2010 sales were just over 10,000 units whilst Audi sales in the same year were over 220,000 and in 2011 this jumped to over 330,000 units.

So how can Infiniti take its name up the sales ranks? One method seems to be introducing stretched versions which the company hopes will make buyers compare the M series sedans to BMW 5-series or Mercedes S-Class offerings. Are Infiniti stretching their vision a little too far? The lengthened M-series will hit the market in June 2012.

Two key things for a luxury automaker to be successful in China:
    1) Local production
    2) Give it the “L” treatment

By the way, I’m guessing you meant BMW 7-series, not 5-series?
