1.6L Mitsubishi Lancer to launch in China

Soueast Mitsubishi Lancer EX4 300x225 1.6L Mitsubishi Lancer to launch in ChinaSouEast-Mitsubishi are planning to boost their China sales with the introduction of a 1.6L Lancer, the eighth generation Lancer was first introduced in 2009 and has not had the sales success that was initially hoped. First engine offerings were 1.8L and 2.0L engines mated to CVT or manual gearboxes, but it is thought that the introduction of a 1.6L engine will take the Lancer to a wider audience with a price that could see it drop through the 100,000rmb bracket.

The last generation Lancer sold relatively well with its smaller displacement engines, perhaps SouEast-Mitsubishi are planning to give the Lancer a second shot in the arm.
