Sylphy Testing in China
The Nissan small car range has had an overhaul in the past few months, the Japanese company has introduced the new Tiida and new Sunny and will soon introduce a new Sylphy sedan. Nissan’s small car range has proved to be exceedingly popular over the past two years and has continually pushed the company’s sales to new highs, Nissan hit the right displacement and the right consumer at just the right time, whilst its Japanese rivals struggled to keep consumers entertained with mid sized sedans.
The new Sunny and Tiida may not be to everyone’s tastes, but the new models appear to be selling well since hitting the market. The Sunny was once a mid size sedan but the car has shrunk in size to become a mini sedan, with the Sylphy occupying the space once taken by the Sunny. A new generation of Sylphy has been spotted out testing in China, it’s not entirely clear what the Sylpy looks like from such a grainy picture but we can guess that it will be in line with the current Tiida and Sunny and will carry the same 1.6L, 1.8L and range topping 1.6T engine as the Tiida. The last generation Sylphy has been pushed over to a Dongfeng branded vehicle but will also continue to be sold as a Nissan in the Chinese market.
