This MG6 has 280bhp on tap

Car fans the world over have probably looked at the MG6′s 164bhp in a pessimistic way, not this Chinese gentlemen though, he decided that anything less than 280bhp just wasn’t acceptable and went about pushing the 1.8T unit to the limits and ultimately squeezed 285bhp out of the unit.

Sound far fetched? Well it does to us as well, a list of parts that were changed or upgraded is not available, but judging by the photos it looks like the gentlemen has changed a lot in the engine bay.

    Hello

I’m Amir. And I’m from Iran. I want to know how this power can be possible whit a 1800cc turbocharged motor?
Is it possible for you to describe more about this project?
and how many seconds the 0-100 accelration improved with this system?

    thank you

With no mention of any modifications done to the engine this is beyond any belief. You have to remember the K series is very well known, and especially the 1.8 liners and block being the weakest. 290bhp has been achieved from a totally forged engine, ported head, aftermamket management and bigger turbo. As you haven’t mentioned even one of these elements there is no information to support your currently empty claim.

I don’t disbelieve this at all. Tuners in Europe have been getting 350+bhp from VW’s 1.8T engine for over 10 years now, and the K-series was a very tunable engine without a Turbo. 1.8 non-turbo units are running 190+bhp in reliable race format, and the S1600 MG ZR (1.6) has 220bhp. Granted, these are high reving units, but the 1.8T should be able to make 285bhp easy with a bit of money spent in the right areas.
