The old Tiida is the new Venucia D50

As we’ve stated many times on China Car Times, old cars never seem to go to the crusher in the sky when production ends, why throw out a perfectly good platform when you can sell it on or continue production under a new brand and count the profits rolling in. The Nissan-Dongfeng backed Venucia brand was first shown at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2010, and had its first car roll out from behind a curtain a year later at the 2011 Guangzhou Auto Show, the media were less than impressed with the rebadged Tiida. As with the last generation Tiida the D50 will come in hatch and sedan forms with prices ranging from as low as 70,000rmb to as high as 90,000rmb for the 1.6L model.

The question is, will it sell? The Everus brand from GAC-Honda is slowly picking up sales with 1600 units sold in Jan and 2000 units sold in February it seems to be going forward slowly.
