New Elantra Launches in Beijing, Euro 2012 included

Three generation of Elantras will be on sale in China by the middle of 2012, the eighth generation launched today in Beijing and comes along with a Euro 2012 special edition model that will likely never make it to the dealerships.

The new Elantra has a slight facelift over the Euro and NA versions, but the engine choices remain largely similar. A 1.6L and 1.8L engine are fitted in the Elantra ‘Lang Dong’ as it will be known in China. Pricing is expected to be as low as 100,000RMB for the basic models, but Chinese media are guessing it will hit as high as 180,000RMB when it finally hits the market in the next few months.
