Geely’s SX Series Merge Bentley with Chinese Style

Every auto show you can guarantee that Geely will make something that will impress or distress. The Englon series of cars did not fail our expectations. The Englon brand, which stands for England-London, was spurred on by the introduction of the London Taxi into the Geely range which saw Geely take a handsome share in the British company.

One problem – the TX4 taxi is not exactly suitable to Chinese taxi market conditions, the massive diesel lump is banned from most cities and the petrol lump is more than just a little thirsty thanks to the massive weight it is pulling around. Pricing is expensive as well, largely due to the unique platform the TX range sit on.

Geely’s solution was to make a new type of taxi that caters to Chinese and other developing nations situation. Light weight, roomy, fuel efficient and carrying that British style. We’re not saying the SX and SC range are 100% destined to become taxi cabs, but it is a high possibility.

In Geely style, there are no concepts on show ever, what you see on the Geely stand are production ready cars that will one day hit the production lines. When will we see these? We have no idea.

Those Geelys would look good with Austin of England or Jowett badges.

why do the chinese designers get a good looing car and turn it into god knows what?It will definetely take decades until they will be able to compare to brands like VW,Hyundai,Toyota etc.Now all they do is:ONE STEP FORWARD AND TWO STEPS BACK.every copy they bring to the market takes them until five years back to the eyes of the consumers

It looks pretty hideous in that colour, but I can imagine it would look a lot better in London-taxi black.

well, Top Gear~s Jason Barlow wrote “the most offensive of all was Geely sub-brand Englon’s SC7, a mash-up of Rolls Phantom, London taxi, and God knows what else”.
So I agree and do not like SX just adding that Geely stole even Chrysler design

I for one think it looks good. And it’s not as bad a copy as some people think. It’s just a reimagined version of the London Taxi:

I’ve seen people calling it a copy of the Bentley EXP 9F concept. But Geely first showed this in 2010 when it was called the Englon TXN Concept:
