With yet another “leak” just before the Beijing Auto Show, Jianghuai revealed the new Tongyue. JAC’s small car, also known as J3 in some markets, is getting a facelift. The car will get also get 35mm longer, increasing its length to 4190mm. The wheelbase will also get stretched 10mm to 2410mm.

In spite of a larger size, JAC will reduce the prices on all versions of the Tongyue. The base model is now 1,000 RMB cheaper: the new version will cost 48,800 RMB (7,700 USD). The top trim got 4,000 RMB price slash: it now costs 56,800 RMB (9,000 USD).

The Tongyue successfully completed a 60,000km endurance test by a Brazilian car magazine. After disassembling the car, it was noted that most of the components were still in very good shape. Known as the J3 in Brazil, it is JAC’s best selling car in that market with over 20,000 sold last year between the hatch and sedan versions.
