Zotye Z100 Emerges as China’s Cheapest Car, World’s Most Desirable Cheapest Car

The Tata Nano is the World’s Cheapest Car, it’s not the world’s best looking car, or even the most desirable car, but Zotye seemed to have bridged the gap between cheap and decent looking with the introduction of the Z100.

The Z100 wasn’t on show in Beijing, but it has made it to the internet via an initial launch in Zotye’s home town of Hangzhou. Previously Zotye purchased the Jiang Nan Auto Company which made a second generation Suzuki Alto under license, the Z100 seems to be a continuation of the Alto love, but we do not know if it is a legal replica or if Zotye have taken a pinch of the Alto for their own liking.

So how much does the Z100 cost? Prices start at just 23,800RMB ($3,700USD) and rise to the giddy heights of 25,800RMB ($4,000USD) for the top of the line model. Engine power comes from a 1.0L engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox.

Feisty little Zotye does it again…Who will be lucky enough to absorb them when the “big consolidation” comes down?
Remember little Willys Jeep, it was a feisty one too.
OK, granted it had more honor owing to its uniqueness, but back then there was no one to copy from. :-)

Not, it’s a copied/cloned Suzuki Alto, which is clearly stated in the article. The Nissan Pixo is a rebadged Suzuki Alto, Nissan had little to nothing to do with its development.

Cleary a copy, but with an all important twist. Proper wind down windows in the rear doors. Zoyte have improved the Alto / Pixo!!

always better to buy from China than some greedy multinational corporation from the west, japan, or south korea. it’s a shame that the people from those oppressive regimes dont have a real choice, and have to continue buying from cartels. idiots will always think it’s cool to get ripped off
