Big Grill? Check. Swooping Roof Lines. Check. Sporty Coupe Looking Rear? Check. Are we talking about Infiniti’s sexy FX series of Sports SUV’s? No. We’re talking about FAW’s new SUV for the Besturn range of vehicles. Let’s not focus entirely on the exterior as that is something we cannot see in its entirity just yet, I am sure pictures of the new SUV road testing in Xinjiang or Hainan will emerge over the summer months. Let’s talk interior. FAW have learned a lot from working with companies that make the most subtle yet built to last interiors, their partners being Toyota, Audi, VW and of course Mazda. Mazda have likely donated quite a bit of technology to this new vehicle, the last generation Mazda6 platform already underpins the Besturn B50, B70 and likely B90, engine power also comes from the Ma Liu (as Chinese like to call it) with 2.0L and 2.3L engines being offered.

If road testing is happening now, production and ultimately sales cannot be too far away. Perhaps a fourth quarter launch? Many Chinese companies are launching their own SUV models due to the popularity of the segment, Geely’s own GX8 SUV is expected to launch in the next few weeks and BYD’s S6 SUV is already proving to be an exceptionally popular vehicle.

I hope that the production version acutally looks like the concept for once.
Sorry China, but this time you realy copy Nissan. It looks like the whole Nissan line, from the Juke to the rest of them. Comeon people, can’t you even copy in style. When I was in school I too copied, mostly home work projects, but it looked mine because of my own Inglesh. Please do some of your own Inglesh on this car.
A big grille it is for sure…
Until now not having anything more than Fodi bodied SUVS, FAW is late to the market.
