The current Citroen C-Elysee is an old car, based on the original Citroen ZX it has served a good purpose in China. The original ZX was a bit of a sales let down in the Chinese market, it sold well, but ultimately at that time sedans were the way forward for the early 2000 era car consumers. The Elysee was built on top of the ZX platform and built to fit Chinese demands for notchback sedans, the car is still on the market some 8 years after its original launch, a testament to time itself.

Now a new generation of Elysee, named the C-Elysee, is readying for the China market. The new Elysee has been stretched to, it now has a wheelbase of 2650mm which will suit the demands of Chinese consumers that want both big and small at the same time. Engine power comes from a new VTI engine that produces 72bhp, enough to get around time but likely lacking at highway speeds.
Chinese production is likely to begin either in 2012 Quarter 4 or 2013 First Quarter, pricing is most certainly going to start at around 100,000RMB for this model.

Absolutely the Peugeot new 301.
Horrible, bloated and clumsy looking. Can this really be the company that once produced the DS?
The Peugeot 301 looks way better then this, the Peugeot has style about it while the Citroen images make it look big, bulky and awkward.
Yawn …
Sadly, the French have completely lost their mojo, by making cars for ‘international’ markets. Trying to please everyone, but finishing up pleasing no-one.
When they were focused on just pleasing the French, they had a very desirable mixture of style, stamina and techological quirks.
Now they’re just blehhh … (What’s the French for ‘porridge’?)
