Luxgen, the Taiwanese brand, are keen to develop their Chinese business with the introduction of a series of new models. The first model to hit the Chinese market was the Luxgen 7 SUV which has proven to be a popular model despite the slightly higher than expected price of 200,000RMB and rising. The Luxgen CEO MPV may have aired at the Beijing Auto Show, but the Luxgen 5 sedan will be the next model for China according to media reports.
The Luxgen 5 sedan carries 1.8T and 2.0T engines, the 1.8T version is good for 150bhp and the higher 2.0T can reach 170bhp (256Nm torque). Pricing is expected to be around 180,000RMB which seems overly steep when compared to the VW Sagitar, which also has the VW Sagitar with a 1.8T priced at 180,000RMB.

Haven’t seen Luxgen car yet, I suppose it’s built upon some old Renault platform.
I’m not saying they can’t get there, but I don’t think Luxgen is quite comparable to a BMW or Mercedes Benz, I would say they are more wedged between a car like Ford and a BMW. Basically, more in the mold of Buick or Mercury, selling products that are a step above regular cars
Hell no, a car company from Taiwan would not spend all this time and energy (not to mention technology) for it all to be just based on a rinky-dinky old Renault platform
Igualmente
