FAW’s Besturn brand suddenly burst into life with the creation of the Besturn B50 in 2008, before that they created the B70 and recently the B80 midsize sedan, all of which use the Mazda 6 platform. FAW are hoping that Besturn can become a major player in the Chinese auto industry, but the brands late arrival when compared to Roewe and MG, has left it with a lot of competition to catch up with. FAW’s answer is SUV’s, of course Chinese consumers love compact SUV’s and a Mazda based SUV seems like a strong competitor.
Engine power comes in the form of FAW’s own 2.0L/2.3L engines, but FAW are ready to make a big mistake if Chinese reports are correct and the company launch with a manual first and an automatic at a later date.
Update: This SUV is to be named the X7.

Would love to see this beauty up closer but photo enlarger seems broken……for awhile now.
