The Ford Fiesta is one of the more popular small cars in China, not quite as popular as the all conquering Chevrolet Sail with over 23,000 cars sold, in comparison the Fiesta hatch sold 2246 and the sedan version sold 1078 units, but these are different priced cars with the Fiesta sitting at the higher side of the market and the Sail at the lower end.
To get its mojo back, the Fiesta is going to have to undergo some changes. The front end is the most obvious change and follows in the footsteps of the Ford Fusion sedan which hasn’t yet landed in China as the Mondeo but will do so soon. Under the hood a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine is available, so is a 1.0T three cylinder engine and a dual clutch gearbox.
We might see this new Fiesta at the Guangzhou Auto Show but we cannot yet confirm, either way the Chinese automotive media do seem to be enjoying the Thinking Mans Aston Martin styling.
