Transmission manufacturer Getrag signed a new joint venture deal with Dongfeng Auto late last week which will see the two companies jointly research, design, develop, produce and sell dual clutch gearboxes in the Chinese market.
Both companies have taken a 50-percent stake in the new entity, will invest 120 million Euros in the new joint venture in central China’s city of Wuhan, according to the agreement. The main customer of the new JV is expected to be Dongfeng’s own range of self developed cars.The first product of Dongfeng Getrag Transmission Co., Ltd. will be an all new six-speed dual clutch transmission, named 6DCT150, and provided by the joint venture for the Chinese market.
