Sichuan Yema’s Electric Audi A4 Taxi Shows its Face

Sichuan Yema, the plucky Sichuan based automaker, are aiming for the big time with their own auto range which is so far limited to the Sichuan F series of SUV’s all of which are based on the ancient Austin Maestro platform. Yema only make SUV’s due to their production restrictions which keep them restricted to SUV’s and goods vehicles, but that hasn’t limited them at all, you can see Yema’s vehicles in East Coast cities.

This new Audi A4 inspired wagon is apparently running a pure electric drivetrain and will eventually be put into service taxi in the Chengdu and surrounding Sichuan areas in the near future. Power comes from a 60kw electric motor and the car itself measures in at 4510/1760/1615mm, with a wheelbase of 2570mm.

Now the question remains, is this also Austin Maestro based?

Plucky, and a wild Mustang, indeed.
Have to give credit to this little upstart company that took lemons (Maestro-Montego) and made lemonade (cars that look bucuo..).
How did they ever get the coveted license to sell cars?
