… Old Ford Focus.

A sub brand from Ford in China has long been mulled over, but nothing has emerged until now. The new brand is set to be called “Jia Yue” which could be loosely translated as ‘Leaping Excellence’ – a lofty name to live up to. The last generation Ford Focus is looking like it will be the sole model in the new brands line up although that could change come launch time, which we’re not sure will be.

The Jia Yue brand will be one to watch as Ford tries to play catch up in developing markets with GM, whom have managed to develop a range of low cost mini vehicles for developing markets here in China. This ‘new’ car seems to be in line with the last Focus although it is expected to have a smaller 1.5L engine instead of the 1.8L and 2.0L engines offered previously, a new gearbox, possibly a DCT, is also to be installed
