BAIC may have seen the forth coming next generation Land Rover Defender and have incorporated certain elements of that funky new design into the forthcoming SUV. Not much information is available on the above concept but it is thought that this model will be incorporated into a reborn Zhan Qi SUV range which used to make the Beijing Jeep range of cars. These rough and ready SUV’s were once quite popular in China but quickly fell out of favor when foreign companies rolled into town with their fancy new Santana models back in the 80′s, Zhan Qi’s are still a common sight in Western China where there is a massive need for cheap low cost tractor like SUV’s, they were also exported to favored nations that aligned with China after the Soviet-Sino split in the 70′s, you can see them in certain African nations, the Middle East (They were sighted during the Libyan uprising) and also the South American market such as Chile and Peru.

Engine specs? Dimensions? We know nothing over than this vehicle is out there in concept form and is likely a future Zhan Qi, perhaps even heading for military service. Beijing Auto have been rather copy happy with previous ‘self developed vehicles’
