Baojun SUV heading to China Soon

The Baojun brand is made up of two vehicles, the 630 sedan and the old Chevrolet Spark. The Spark was only recently re-branded as a Baojun, prior to its rebirth it was happy sitting in the Chevrolet line up until the new Spark relegated it to Baojun territory. The 630 compact was an entirely new vehicle designed solely for the Baojun brand and is based on older GM tech such as the last generation Buick Excelle platform.

The next model to hit the range will likely be a 630 hatchback, but an SUV is expected to fall into line soon as well. Rumors have been circulating that the current Chevrolet Captiva will form the basis of the new SUV after production was recently shifted to China from South Korea, on the other hand another rumor indicates that this will be a new crossover based on the 630 platform. Expect a handsome car regardless, with 2.0L engines and 6 speed manual/automatic gearboxes coming at relatively low buy in prices.
