Your Chinese Dream Garage, What Would You Buy with a Million RMB?

So long time China Car Times reader and comment box user, Gerald, sent me a message over Weibo on Saturday evening asking what car you would buy if you had a hypothetical 1 million RMB lying around doing nothing. Gerald pointed out that the 1 million RMB (circa 160,000USD) was to be used only for the car purchases and any running costs or maintenance fees are to be taken from ‘extra cash’ from another kitty.

Personally, I would be hard pushed to buy any car over 300,000RMB ($48,000USD) in the Chinese market due to the high buy in price, I’d probably buy a reasonable compact SUV such as a Nissan X-Trail or equivalent Jeep (the Patriot?) or if I was feeling outlandish, the new BMW X1, and then stuff the remaining cash the bank for a rainy day.

So although I avoided Gerald’s question with my own misery (Would you really want to spend 50,000USD on a Focus ST?), what would you buy if you had a million Mao’s in the palm of your hand?
