The VW Santana is set to launch on December 16th this month according to media reports. The all new Santana was aired at the Guangzhou Auto Show late last month for the first time, the three box sedan was well received by Chinese consumers. Power comes from 1.4L and 1.6L engines and should be priced from circa 80,000RMB and rising, although Chinese media seem to think it will be in the 90,000RMB area.

The New Santana is considerably smaller than the previous generation model, especially in the rear, however this model will be targeted directly at second third and fourth tier city residents to bring them into the VW fold with their first automotive buy. Once the Santana is out on the market we can expect the All New Jetta to join the party as well.
