Suzhou Based Start Up Planning Chinese Tesla

Tesla’s cars have become the byline for luxury electric cars, performance mixed with luxury but now a Chinese car company is planning to make its own ‘Tesla’

Suzhou based Yi Gao Electric car maker, a golf cart maker by trade, is planning its own electric sports car according to a patent application made earlier today. The new car certainly has sports car proportions, two seats and a slender body, but real world production issues at a small factory might make that sleek body look more like an Austin Wedge. Battery packs haven’t yet been revealed, hopefully Yi Gao will be able to avoid the usual lead acid dead weights that end up in electric golf carts.

As Yi Gao doesn’t have a license to make cars for Chinese roads, this new Chinese Tesla is likely to be exported to overseas markets.
