Yema Continues On the Cloning Spree, Calls the Mazda 5 its own

Sichuan based Yema Auto have once again cloned another car, this time they’ve taken the Mazda5 and placed their own badging on the front and rear. From the outside the two cars look virtually the same aside from the lack of a sliding door which has been cut from the Yema version, likely due to complexity or to keep costs down.

The new MPV is called the S-MPV and is virtually identical to the Mazda5 but has tones of the Mazda CX7 around the front end as well, the interior is also fairly similar to the Mazda5. Engine power comes from 1.3L and 1.5L naturally aspirated and also a 1.5T. The Turbo version will be good for 200Nm of torque but BHP figures haven’t yet been released. If Yema do go ahead with this model, it will be the first turbo model and the first automatic model available.

Yema are not strangers to copying cars, the company’s own name is a Chinese translation of ‘Mustang’, the company have also produced an Audi A4, a Kia SUV and also the VW Toureg before now, so we can expect more clones are on the way.
