How Yema Designs or Doesn’t Design its Cars

The eagle eyed editors at Auto.163.com realized earlier today that the ‘official pictures‘ of Yema’s future MPV was in fact a knock off of the Chang’an Honor, even using the Chang’an Honor’s official media pictures.

Let’s have a look at the Yema picture one more time:

Firstly, Yema grafted the four bar Honda Elysion grill on top of the Chang’an Honor but forgot to Photoshop out some key evidence, for example the Chang’an logos are still on the alloys of the ‘Yema MPV

Now let’s look at the Chang’an Honor MPV on the bottom, and the Yema at the top. Note the similarities. The tire brands are the same, the alloy logos are also the same, that’s because they are Chang’an. The chiseled swerve in the side profile of the Honor doesn’t swoop down for Yema, instead it stays straight. The only additions that Yema have made are the chrome stripes on the lower splitter.

Yema seems to be bucking the industry trend, so far we’ve seen Chinese manufacturers create ever improving designs, dare we say impressive designs, so to see manufacturers creating knock off after knock off is very disappointing. We hope that Yema are able to invest in real R&D and not Replicate and Duplicate.
